Halloween Listening Party is Back!
I almost didn’t write this post — but a student in my podcasting class asked if I was going to write anything for Halloween; and it suddenly hit me that I rarely post on this blog about the Halloween radio project I run — despite the fact that I’ve been doing it for over a decade now.
Anyway, this is just to let you that the Halloween Listening Party on FOTW Radio is back for #Halloween2025. It’s a radio stream that runs all year — but really hits its stride through October — with a live broadcast on Halloween night and the airing of an original spooky story.
This year’s scary audio story ‘Eat the Rich’ has been written by Luke ‘Wordtweak’ Applebee who is based in Manor Lakes, Victoria. Luke works as an editor, but also writes the Glancing Hit blog about tabletop gaming, as well as short stories and poems. He is a huge music lover and always gives us a few great recommendations for Halloween night (like this slow burn).
We also have the return of Missy El of the Cassettes and Chocolate Milk blog and podcast with one of her trademark ‘synthimacabre’ Halloween specials. I can guarantee you that many of her musical discoveries you will not have heard, as she is a master of unearthing lost gems from various corners of the world and time. You can catch her mix in the later part of the live show.
But you also don’t have to wait for Halloween night; there are 13 themed hours that are playing everyday, including Halloween classics, eerie ambient from space, horror soundtracks from the 80s, spooky classical music, haunted jazz and devilish blues. Drop in any time to refill your cup of creepy.
Finally, you can always send in your own song request through the form on the HLP website (or send me an email – IJ at info@halloweenlisteningparty.com)
And have a Happy Halloween!

Look forward to it!
